As I post this one, I'm unable to tag it as an enhancement request, for example. As a moderator, we should be able to turn this feature on/off for members and/or moderators, but it would really add to the usability of the site. Thanks!

I do some reporting on our Community Pages. One thing I notices that posts stay in the Topic Type that they originally have been posted in. We have Questions that should rather be Ideas, and Ideas that already exist and should be Q&As. When I report on my Ideas/Questions the posts in the wrong category still show up with the original type although I have changed the type and moved the post. How can this be solved.
Thanks
P.S: It would also be nice to show the Post Type in the Moderation view. This way I could see what already has been corrected.

we are using the Ideation Process for our Product Development. As the Company and our Community Base is growing, it might make sense to restrict the ability to add an Idea to a certain group.
E.g. we only want the users that have support access or are 'qualified/trained' to add new feature requests (or tie it to a certain rank/badge ;-)) Currently its all or nothing.
Hi, we are using the Gallery View for some of our Categories. While this is a nice feature it also has a downside. The format of the Picture used for the Gallery is a different format than something you would use as a title in an article (see above). I cant use the Title as an Icon and I cant use the Icon as a title.
It would therefore be great to have a small tickbox in the Top Picture to decide that this picture is 'icon only' and then does not get shown in the article...

Messaging is a great idea, but to use it to facilitate connections and interaction, a few improvements would be great:

Messaging is one-to-one, so you can only have one recipient for a message. - If we could have more then one, it would be a lot easier to introduce users to each other, or start small group conversations. Instead of setting up a full category.

Messages don't have @mention support. - same as above. If someone did something, it would be great to have a chance to 'flag' them in a message. Or use the sign to communicate to a single member what has been discussed by more people

You can go to the full Messaging center to write a longer message. Click the Messaging icon at the top of the screen and click "View all Messages". Or from the chat popup, click the cog icon and select "See full conversation." - better but not really scalable for larger texts. May be also some basic editing tools like Bulletpoints or Fontsizes would be great. or even a chance to add 'code'

Hi there,

Thank you for the support on this platform. We enjoy using it!

This post contains a couple of requests:

1. We have users that want to receive email notifications from boards they follow, and they also want to receive notifications when they are @mentioned. In cases where they are @mentioned within a board that they follow, they logically receive two email notifications by default. Users are wondering if there is a logic that could be introduced so as to only receive one email notification in those overlapping instances.

2. Additionally, Forumbee was kind enough to introduce logic for @mentioned notifications in which the entire post is sent to a user's inbox. This allows users to see the message in its entirety without logging into Forumbee. Meanwhile, the notifications related to boards or posts they follow are truncated. Users are requesting that any notifications that come to their inbox include the entire post if possible.

Many thanks for considering!

However, we would like to be able to programmatically add users to Forumbee and send out the invite (including choosing a template) as available in the GUI (Admin > add-users).

Alternatively or on top, we would like to be able to add domains programmatically to the whitelist.

Hi there!

We use ForumBee with a volunteer community that can be quite verbose in their replies! 🙂

They mention that, when their replies get quite long (and take up most of the screen), they are unable to easily scroll up and see the post to which they are replying.

A great feature would be to introduce a scrolling option early on (to both the reply and the initial page--that potentially already has various posts and replies) and also not let the reply take up more than half the screen at a time. That way, people could see both their lengthy reply and the original post/other replies on the same screen.

Merge new topics to existing

Hello!

I wanted to request the feature to merge new posts into existing topics. The ability to merge a reply to any other topic already exists, but there doesn't appear to be a way to move a parent topic into an existing topic.

The reason I ask for this feature is that we get quite a few duplicate feature requests, which leads to me closing the duplicate posts and asking people to post in the other. It'd be convenient for our members, as well as anyone looking into a feature request, to have all the posts in one place.

Thanks!

Bulk Removal of Users from "Private" Categories

I use "private" categories for many different purposes. Recently, I had occasion to remove several users from one of these categories and found that I could only do so individually via the "Users" setting which is slow and inefficient when dealing with more than one user.

My suggestion is to add a "Remove" users capability to the "Categories" setting which would work similar to the "Add" users capability.

Clicking the suggested <Remove> button will display a dialog for me to enter user email addresses for removal.

After entering all email addresses targeted for removal, clicking the <Save> button would remove the targeted users.

Auto-reject Registrations From Specified Domains

Our community is a B2B environment created to support our customers. As such, we wish to discourage registration of users with non-business email domains (e.g., gmail, yahoo, etc.). Today, I accomplish this by creating an "Approve Sign-Up" list of non-business email domains and manually rejecting any new sign-ups using an email address that is flagged.

It is preferable to create a "Reject" List (I would still keep the "Approve" List) of non-business email domains that can either be:

Automatically rejected, or

Flagged during the sign-up process followed by an automated message (dialog) requesting that a business email address be used.

My goal here is to not be required to manually reject and respond to (via email) all sign-ups with "flagged" email domains.

It would help users understand exactly where they need to vote as sometimes they click like on a reply instead of the original submitted idea.

I've attached screenshots from other sites with simple to more complex voting options.

I was just looking at the emoticons and to be honest I think most of them look awful. For example the crying/smiling emoji in comparison with the default... The emoji you have doesn't really quite add up, you have to focus on it the first time to get what it actually means and that isn't really the purpose of emoji's

😂

Same goes with the normal smiling emoji. To me the white line looks more like a white/milk moustache then a line of teeth.

😃

It's not something of the most shocking importance of course but I'd still like to let you know.

I've been trying out Forumbee for the last 2 days and there's basically only one thing I'm really missing and that's points/achievements.

Whenever you're trying to engage people to come back, be an active member of the community and in general helping me out with my product an incentive like this can really help. When you look at platforms like stackoverflow, reddit and technet they all provide something similar.

Looking at the practical part you can start off simple with points being given for posts, likes on your post and amount of followers. It would be nice to give these "points" a name. For example coins, points whatever makes sense to the admin of the community to personalize the thing. Achievements are another nice to have, but that can be further along the road.

Custom status or a new "issue" set of status

It would be cool if I could create a set of custom statuses or if Forumbee would add a new set of status specifically for issues/bugs. For example, if we have a member of our community reporting an issue they're experiencing and it is deemed a bug, it would be great to be able to provide status labels like:

Known issue

Fix pending

Solved

Fixed

No fix planned

Something like this could both provide greater transparency to reported issues, as well as letting people who visit the community and see the issue know that it has since been resolved and wouldn't be an issue for them.

Thanks.
