Prevent Video from being downloaded

Is it possible to embed or link to a video but prevent the user from being able to download it or access it directly due to IP?

Hi  , thanks for your question! We have several options that can help protect your video content:

    1. Embedded videos: When you embed videos from YouTube, Vimeo, Wistia, or Vidyard in Forumbee, users can only view the video within the embed. No direct download option is provided.
    2. Category access restrictions: You can limit access to specific categories in Forumbee to users from particular domains. This ensures that only authorized users can view topics and videos in those categories. To set this up, please see our guide on using groups to manage access.
    3. Video platform restrictions: Some video hosting platforms offer additional security features:
      • Vimeo allows you to restrict video playback to specific website domains.
      • Vidyard offers IP restriction capabilities (availability may depend on your account level).
      • YouTube and Wistia also have various privacy settings you can explore.

These methods can be used individually or in combination to provide layered protection for your video content.

Is there a specific use case or level of restriction you're aiming for? I'd be happy to provide more targeted advice based on your needs.
