Undesired Notifications

I created a "hidden" category that is intend for use with select customers only. However, when a post is made in that category, any user that follows the person making the post sees all of the posts under that header - which is undesired behavior. Unless participating in the hidden category, I do not want users to see posts that are being made there. How can this be prevented?

Hi Neil , users should not see posts in categories they have not been granted access to, even if they are following a user who posts there. Note that users with the "Moderator" or "Admin" role are able to see all categories, regardless of whether they have been granted access. Check to see if your user has one of these roles.

His role is set to member and he definitely did get notification. Only users granted access to this category are Ruby and CNB.

Hi Neil , checking into this I found the post was originally posted in Questions & Answers which is a category with access set to registered members. You can see that category name here in the screenshot above. Since Gary has access to this category he received the notification. Later, after the notification was sent, you moved the post to another category that Gary does not have access to, so when he clicked through from the email he would not have been able to view the post.
