Retrieving deleted category
Hi - some categories in our forums have an 'x' next to the 'Edit' link in the Categories dashboard. This is a 'Delete' command, it is easy to accidentally click this instead of the 'Edit' link and there is no confirmation request. Consequently our Events category has been accidentally deleted. Is there a way of retrieving it?

Hi Barry Kruger , you can create a new Events category by clicking "Add category" and selecting the Events category type.
In the Categories dashboard, the 'x' option to delete a category is only shown if the category is empty (has no posts). If a category has posts it cannot be deleted from the dashboard. This is to protect categories with content from being accidentally deleted.
