Change Topic Type does not change Reporting

Hi,

I do some reporting on our Community Pages. One thing I notices that posts stay in the Topic Type that they originally have been posted in. We have Questions that should rather be Ideas, and Ideas that already exist and should be Q&As. When I report on my Ideas/Questions the posts in the wrong category still show up with the original type although I have changed the type and moved the post. How can this be solved.
Thanks
P.S: It would also be nice to show the Post Type in the Moderation view. This way I could see what already has been corrected.

Hi  , thanks for your post!

I understand your perspective and the need for accurate historical data in our reporting system. As it stands, the reporting system is designed to ensure consistency over time. This means that if you run a report now and then repeat it in the future, the results will remain consistent, even if there have been category changes, like moving ideas from a 'main' category to an 'archive' category.

I can see how in your case, you would need to have it update past metadata. I don't believe this is a quick change. I will share with the team and track this as a feature request. Thanks very much for your feedback!

Hi, it seems there are two fields. One that defines the behavior and listing in the Community (Idea/Post/Article...) otherwise the option to switch type and move in the community does not make sense. And there is a field that identifies how/where the post was originally posted. So if I could report on the fields current AND original type from the Database via the API, this would give me all the relevant data. Rgds Christian
